Spotlight on Tradition: 125 Years of Cap&Bells

Welcome to “Spotlight on Tradition: 125 Years of Cap&Bells,” an immersive journey into the captivating history of the oldest continuously running student theatre organization, both here at Williams, and in the US. As we step behind the curtain, this exhibit invites you to explore the rich tapestry of creativity, resilience, and community that defines the legacy of Cap&Bells.

Founded in 1898, Cap&Bells has been a dynamic force within the Williams College cultural landscape, fostering artistic expression, cultivating talent, and creating a sense of belonging for generations of students. This exhibition seeks to illuminate the pivotal moments, artistic triumphs, and the enduring spirit that has shaped Cap&Bells into the vibrant organization we celebrate today.

On display in the Special Collections Galleries, 4th floor of Sawyer Library, through February 2, 2024. Join us for a reception Tuesday, January 16, 7:00-8:30 to celebrate 125 years of Williams student-run theatre!
