In April 2023 we administered the LibQUAL survey of library service quality on campus. Thank you to everyone who responded to the survey. If we ask you about how we are doing, it is only fair that you also see how you all responded. Here is a summary report of the survey results. We did not get get a great response rate to the survey so, although we are taking the responses seriously, we can’t be sure that they are representative. We are investigating ways we can double check these results with other feedback so that we can have more confidence in the results.
In the meantime, the library staff have read and discussed the results and have taken them into consideration as we have developed our next phase of our strategic plan. The Library Committee has been given an opportunity to review the results, and various staff and groups within the Libraries are drilling down into specific findings. We are also thinking about ways to increase the response rate the next time we administer the survey. LibQUAL also allows respondents to provide open ended comments and we did not want these to go into an administrative blackhole never to be seen again. Read our responses to those comments here.
If you have any comments or questions about the summary results or the comments, please reach out to Jonathan Miller, the Director of Libraries.
