Now on Display: Black & White Analog Photography

Students in SHSS-23 Introduction to Black & White Analog Photography taught by Daniel Goudrouffe learned the mechanics of the analog 35mm camera, the process of developing films into negatives, and the technique of printing in the darkroom. Through a study of Thomas Allen Harris’ documentary Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People (2014) students developed their personal vision, creating a series of images. This exhibit shares photography triptychs and artist statements created by students in the 2023 Summer Humanities and Social Sciences program. The exhibit will be on display in Sawyer’s Lippman Atrium through the end of September 2023.
