Video art’s inherent heterogeneity was examined as a vital part of the medium’s identity and as a radical mechanism for cultural discourse. Students were encouraged to utilize experimentation and interdisciplinary approaches to consider how video art hybridizes with other media, ingests emerging technologies, and develops new models and platforms for sharing work.

Student work from the course will be playing in Sawyer Library’s Class of 1987 Forum through the end of the semester.
