New Project Archivist in Special Collections

Special Collections is delighted to welcome a new Project Archivist to the staff, Laurel Rhame. Laurel comes to Williams by way of The Morton Arboretum, located in Lisle, Illinois. At the Arboretum, she served as the Access Services Librarian and managed the institutional archives of the Sterling Morton Library and staffed the reference desk among other responsibilities. She holds an MLIS from the University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science and a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College. Though Laurel is an Iowa native, she has always wanted to relocate to New England and looks forward to spending a year in Williamstown where she will be arranging and describing the Paul Whiteman Collection that is housed in the College Archives in Sawyer Library. Follow the progress over the next year on Twitter and Instagram via the hashtag #paulwhitemancollection.
