Original documents central to the founding of the United States of America are on permanent display in the Chapin Gallery, Room 406 of Sawyer Library, during regular business hours of the Special Collections Department of the Williams Libraries. View high-resolution digital images of the documents, which include a draft of the U.S. Constitution and a “Dunlap broadside,” the earliest printed version of the Declaration of Independence, in our digital collections. The Chapin Gallery is open to the public, free of charge, and staff welcome visits by groups from schools and other organizations by advance arrangement.
