Here is the reply I sent to a student who also raised this question:
I used the “hot water” feature of the hot drink machine last week and was not aware that any change had been made to the dispenser settings. The person who would know about any possible change of this type and who is our contact with the vendor is away until October 13. We will follow-up on this matter and let you know what we learn.

Hello, I noticed that there is no longer the option to just get hot water from the "Cafe Sawyer" machine. Is this an accident? If not, why is that no longer an option? Thanks in advance for your help. Thomas Rubinsky '10
