COMPOSER Search
Perform an AUTHOR (composer) search, then use the Limit / Sort Search button at top of page to limit to Material Type MUSIC SCORE. Find the title of the desired work in the resulting list.
note: A composer's works are arranged in FRANCIS alphabetically by their "uniform titles" (more about uniform titles). Generally, uniform titles are used for all generic musical forms, genres, and chamber music combinations; e.g., concertos, nocturnes, quartets, etc.
Find the uniform title in FRANCIS: perform an AUTHOR search, then use the "locate in results" box at lower right to jump to the desired section. For example, in an AUTHOR search on Chopin, Frederic, type in preludes in the "locate in results" box at lower right of screen to jump to the section of the list where the preludes by Chopin start. Scroll forward in the list to find the desired work.
For non-generic or distinctive works, such as the example below, the preferred uniform title is in the original language. Use Grove Music Online (search the "works list") to find the original language title.
