When searching historical newspapers, remember to use vocabulary that would have been used at the time.
Read the help pages within the database to learn how to search full-text newspapers effectively.
For other older newspapers (pre-1980s), we may be able to obtain microfilm reels for particular date ranges through ILLiad (interlibrary loan). These newspapers may not have an index, so you will need to skim through the reels to find articles of interest.
For current regional newspapers, search Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe - News. For Massachusetts News, search Massachusetts Newspapers.
If you have an exact citation to a newspaper article, you can use ILLiad (interlibrary loan) to request the article.

Use the vocabulary in use at the time.
Use print indexes for browsing topics.
Do a journal title search in FRANCIS to find the magazine. Look at the beginning of print indexes to find the magazine abbreviations.
If we don't have the periodical you need, use ILLiad (interlibrary loan) to request the article.
For periodicals in storage, use the request item in storage form.
