Dance in Video (1950s to present)
What Is It? Streaming video of dance performances ranging from the ballets of Stravinsky to contemporary American and European troupes. Also includes documentaries by and about leading choreographers and videos on dance training. The collection is growing and projected to include over 250 performances and documentaries.
Why Use It? Provides the visual element essential to the study and research of dance. Features include browse, search, creation of playlists, and the ability to bookmark performances and create custom clips.
Data and Statistics – General Reference Resources (current)
What Is It? This resource includes child and family statistics, crime and justice statistics, economic indicators, education and environment statistics, geographic and geospatial data, and much more. Searchable databases and downloadable datasets are provided for many categories.
Why Use It? To find statistics and data collected and provided by the United States Federal government.
Data.gov (current)
What Is It? Data.gov provides raw data with descriptions of the Federal datasets (metadata), information about how to access, and tools that leverage government datasets.
Why Use It? To find, download, and use a growing repository of machine-readable datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government.
Declassified Documents Reference System (1941-current)
What Is It? Declassified White House, CIA, FBI, State Department documents from presidential libraries.
Why Use It? Find primary source government documents obtained through FOIA. Research U.S. foreign and domestic policy.
Dictionary of American Biography (Coverage Varies)
What Is It? Collection of biographical sketches of Americans who died in 1980 or earlier.
Available through the Biography Resource Center database.
Why Use It? Find a biography of an American figure who died in or before 1980. Group biographies of people by occupation, birthplace, birth year, or sex. Find a biography of someone if you know only their occupation, birthplace, birth year, or sex; search the full-text of the biographies using just a keyword.
Dictionary of American History (Current)
What Is It? The Dictionary of American History is a standard reference work in United States history, covering prehistory to 2002. See volume 9 for archival maps and primary sources.
Why Use It? Find encyclopedia articles, archival maps, and primary sources about American history.
Digital National Security Archive (1945-current)
What Is It? Citations, abstracts and full-text of declassified U.S. government documents, including bulletins, memos, reports, agreements (primarily acquired through FOIA requests) covering U.S. foreign policy since 1945. Arranged in discrete collections; see Collections Guide, but can be searched across collections.
Why Use It? Use DNSA to find full-text of primary source documents central to topics ranging from post World War II European policy to recent efforts in combating terrorism.
Directory of Corporate Archives in the United States and Canada
What Is It? The directory includes information about companies that maintain their historical records themselves, as well as companies that contract with historical consulting firms to maintain their archives collections for them. The directory has three indexes: alphabetical list of corporations, archivists, and geographical.
Why Use It? To find the description and contact information for a corporate archive.

What Is It?
