What is it? Black Studies Center comprises three resources: the Chicago Defender 1935-present (a highly influential African American newspaper) , the Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience (containing video, commissioned essays, timelines and supported materials, and images), and the International Index to Black Periodicals (indexing the major Black journals, magazines, and newsletters in the Americas; fulltext for many articles from 1988+).
