What is Times Select?

Times Select is a fee-based service from the New York Times that allows individual reader access to The Times's premium content, including Op-Ed columnists, the online archive from 1981, videos, blogs and other special features.  Here's how this compares with the library's subscription access through ProQuest:

Only individuals are able to subscribe to Times Select. Libraries and other institutions cannot obtain licenses.

Recently, the New York Times has made Times Select free to students and faculty at educational institutions. See Times Select for University Students and Faculty for details about this service.

How do I access the Library's subscription to the New York Times?

Library users must be on the Williams network or access it through the proxy server to use the library subscription service through ProQuest.

Go to News Article Databases and choose ProQuest National Newspapers (Current News) or ProQuest Historical Newspapers (US) as needed.
