Borrowing Laptops

Sawyer and Schow libraries have laptops available for check-out on a first-come, first-served basis. Laptops are available for both student and faculty/staff use.

Borrowing Laptops for Students

The Library has twenty available for student use. Each is loaded with:

  • Microsoft Office
  • a telnet client
  • a recent version of Netscape/IE/Firefox
  • and current virus protection software.

Student laptops may be checked out from the Access Services Desk in Sawyer and from the Services Desk in Schow. They circulate for four hours and may be renewed if no one else is waiting for them. Student laptops may not leave the Library.

Borrowing Laptops for Faculty

Williams provides laptops for faculty. Each has installed:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Browser

Faculty laptops are in heavy use and must be reserved in advance through the Systems Office (x2084 or 4382). They normally circulate for two weeks.

Borrowing Zip Drives

Students, faculty, and staff may borrow zip drives from the Access Services Desk in Sawyer. See the Loan Periods page for more info.
