Boston Library Consortium Virtual Catalog Williams College is a member of the Boston Library Consortium

The Williams College Libraries got bigger in 2002. Williams College was approved as the newest member of the Boston Library Consortium on February 28, 2002. We have since joined those members using the Virtual Catalog for borrowing from member libraries and participating Massachusetts public library consortia. In addition, current Williams College faculty, students, and staff as well as emeriti faculty can apply for a Consortium Card that will enable them to check materials out when visiting member libraries. We have already benefitted from membership by being able to add such important full-text journals as the Science Direct package from Elsevier that are not feasible for us to subscribe to on our own.

The BLC is a strong group of academic and research libraries that has combined collections of nearly 30 million volumes. Members include Boston College, Boston Public Library, Boston University, Brandeis, Brown, the University of Connecticut, Marine Biological Laboratory/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, MIT, University of New Hampshire, Northeastern, the State Library of Massachusetts, Tufts, UMass - Amherst, UMass - Boston, UMass - Dartmouth, UMass - Lowell, UMass - Medical, and Wellesley College.
